Now, there's a 35% chance of failure

Learning from your failures Two 4-round tournaments in the last 2 weekends and every time I managed to go 2-2, ending up in the middle of the pack. Not a terrible result but also not particularly great after the 6-win streak in the Brussels Regional. So what lists did I face in those losing matches? And what can we learn from them? Continuing with basicly the same list of Kanan/Biggs . Kanan in the Ghost with Twin Laser Turret, Fire Control Systems, Recon Specialist, Jan Ors and Tactical Jammer. Biggs with an Integrated Astromech: R4-D6 and in the Phantom Ezra with Hera Syndulla and Wired. Miranda, Jess, Biggs Some variation of an Heaverish list flown by a very good rebel player. I was able to trade Biggs for Biggs and was able to kill Jess before the Ghost was killed. However it died too and a 3-health Attack Shuttle was not able to survive against a full-health Miranda. Lessons learned: When the Ghost is a 3 health eject your Attack Shuttle. Even if you don't have

Deploying the Phantom

Deploying the Phantom A lot of opponents have been asking me about the rules for deploying the Phantom. Of course these rules can only be found in the rules booklet that comes with the Ghost expansion pack.  At the bottom of this article you can find the official rules for reference.  There are 2 different ways the Phantom can be deployed from the Ghost. First is when the Ghost is destroyed. Second is when you choose too.  Actually deploying the Phantom You deploy the Phantom by choosing a maneuver on it's dial. Put the template in the rear guides of the Ghost and the rear guides of the Phantom on the other side of the template (unless you did a koiogran turn, then use the Phantom's front-end guides.  When the Ghost is destroyed If the Ghost gets destroyed the Phantom is still able to flee. However you have to assign it a facedown damage card and it can't attack until the next turn. You also may not perform an action. When the Ghost flies off the ma

The road to Birmingham: Part 1

European championships X-Wing In November of last year FFG OP (Fantasy Flight Games Organized Play) announced the first ever European Championships X-Wing. They will be held June 2nd - 4th at the UK Games Expo in Birmingham. Currently there are still about 350 spots left of the possibly 600 people attending. This means currently just under 250 people are attending. However I assume this number will rise once FFG OP announces the prizes for this event. Possibly making it the biggest X-Wing tournament in Europe.  Full prize-support is not known yet, but we can assume it will rival the North-American 2016 and the Worlds 2016 prize-pool. We do know that the European Champion will receive travel and accommodations to the 2018 World Championship, along with a first-round bye. He or she will also work with FFG to design a card for the game. Now I'll be heading down there with a bunch of happy Belgians. Should you wish to join drop me a line through here or facebook and may
